Quartetto Foné

Quartetto Foné starts its concert activity in 1985, with achievements in various Italian (Stresa, Palmi, Trapani) and international competitions (“G.B. Viotti” in Vercelli, “D. Shostakovich” in Saint Petersburg)

The string quartet have performed in the major concert halls and for the major concert societies of Italy, as follows: Milan – La Scala; Turin -  Unione Musicale; Società del Quartetto e Serate Musicali; Rome -  S. Cecilia; Venice – Teatro La Fenice; Trieste -  Società dei concerti; Parma -  Teatro Regio; Genova -  Teatro Carlo Felice;  Florence -  Amici della Musica; e Filarmonica Romana; Naples – “A. Scarlatti”; Palermo -  Amici della Musica.

Outside of Italy, they have performed in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Israel, France, Spain, Greece, The United States, Canada and Japan.

In their recording activity, must be mentioned the Quintet by Schubert in collaboration with cellist Franco Rossi and sextet “Souvenir de Florence” by Tschaikovskij with Sadao Harada, cellist of Tokyo Quartet, and Harald Schoneweg, member of Quartetto Cherubini.



The quartet has collaborated with the following musicians, among others: Hans-Jorg Schellenberger, Principal Oboe of The Berlin Philharmonic ; Pianists Alexander Lonquich, Piernarciso Masi, Benedetto Lupo, Pietro De Maria ; Flutists Giorgio Zagnoni, Peter Lukas Graf ; Clarinetist Anthony Pay , Karl Leister; Altos Danilo Rossi and Harald Schoneweg; Violoncellists Miclos Perenyi.
